"Last fall, three young men of Palestinian descent were shot while out for a walk. All three survived, but one, Hisham Awartani, suffered a spinal cord injury and is now paralyzed from the waist down. The team at Vermont manufacturer and designer WheelPad L3C feels thankful and honored to have been a part of Hisham's accessibility journey as he adapts to life after a spinal cord injury.
Being able to support a community member in need at home here in Vermont to get a quickly installed, accessible living space so that Hisham can live in the comfort of his own private space with his family while he recovers has been inspiring.
