Each year Rock Point School in Burlington, VT, hosts their annual Maple Run 5k to raise funds for the charity of their choice. In 2023 the race raised money for the World Central Kitchen to help with their disaster relief efforts in Turkey. The race is hosted every year on the Rock Point School property, with the 5k race track passing through the Burlington Bike Path along Lake Champlain, and the maple sugarbush on campus.
After the race, runners convene together to receive prizes, connect with each other, and enjoy sweet snacks and treats from the sugarhouse where Rock Point School staff and students make their own maple syrup.
