Maclay Architects receives award for Net-Zero Design
Vermont architectural firm Maclay Architects received top honors for the net-zero energy design of The Putney School field house in the new construction category at Efficiency Vermont’s 2010 Better Buildings by Design Conference. The 16,800 square foot field house will produce as much energy as it uses over the course of a year thanks to an on-site solar photovoltaic system—making it the nation’s first net-zero energy secondary school building and Vermont’s first commercial net-zero energy building. NRG Systems' Jan Blittersdorf at White House Jobs Summit
US Representative Peter Welch announced that Vermont business leader Jan Blittersdorf has been selected to take part in the White House Forum on Jobs and Economic Growth. Blittersdorf, CEO and president of Hinesburg-based NRG Systems, will join President Obama, fellow business leaders and financial experts at the White House Thursday, December 3, to discuss ideas for creating jobs and growing the economy. Vermont Business Magazine was the first to pick up the news.
